Who are Reg & Ruby?
Reg & Ruby are a high end, innovative company who produce beautiful gifts for your dog, Including eat me – greet me cards, and rope toys. They also produce seasonal items such as rawhide Easter eggs, and advent calendars.
What are the Eat me – Greet me cards?
The cards are made of 100% rawhide, and are a special gift for a special dog. They come complete with their own notelet, which can be affixed inside the card with a personal message, and their own chocolate brown pillow envelope to allow the card to be sent through the post. The card can then be eaten by the doggy it was sent to, that is, after the owner has shown it off for a while first!! The cards contain only natural vegetable colours.
Why are the rope toys so special?
The Reg & Ruby rope toys are very classy and contemporary, and come in the signature colours of chocolate brown, cream, and turquoise. They are ideal to be given as an extra present alongside the cards. There is a ball on rope toy, and a rope frisbee, with a squeaker in the middle.
What can you expect from Reg & Ruby in the future?
As mentioned above, Reg & Ruby have lots of seasonal goodies for your dog, including Christmas tree shaped advent calendars, with a Rawhide bone for each day, and hessian stockings, whith their own rawhide tag. What is meant by the protein scale?
The protein scale indicates the values of different sources
of protein. Salmon proteins have a high value (i.e. high utilisation rate)
compared to chicken, lamb, beef, pork, soybean meal, and wheat. This makes
it obvious that salmon proteins are among the best when it comes to nutrition.
These excellent salmon proteins combined with salmon fat (salmon oil)
has a very positive effect, which is why our products are extremely useful
for your dog.
Are the salmon caught solely for the production of any of the Henne Range?
No, that would be just wrong from our point of view.
The treats, oil and complete food are made from the flesh of salmon that
is caught for human consumption. Henne use the off cuts of salmon flesh
that would usually be thrown away, or flesh from salmon deemed not aesthetically
pleasing enough for our supermarkets.
What part of the fish is used, do you use intestines?
Only the flesh of the fish is used in the products that Henne produce. At NO time are the intestines of the salmon used to produce any of the range.
What benefit will my dog get from the food and oil?
Your dog will get a miriad of benefits from the Henne
range. Just as our governments recommend that we eat plenty of salmon,
or oily fish each week for our health, your dog will receive the same
benefits from a high Omega 3 diet.
Rheumatism, Allergies (Especially Flea Allergies) Skin diseases, itching,
dull fur, poor immune system, poor wound healing, Eczema, Heart health,
liver function Gland health, kidney health, etc etc etc, all benefit from
the range, and you will be giving your dog/cat the best chance of a long
and healthy life.
How is the oil administered?
The Oil comes in a plastic bottle with a pump. This is administered directly into the animal’s food. The pump is very important, as it allows for accurate dosage, keeps the air away from the product so that it does not go off before its time, and is an easier and more hygienic way to administer the oil.
How long will a bottle last?
That will depend on the size and number of animals that you are giving it to. A 250ml bottle being used for one small dog (e.g. Jack Russell) which would use only 1 pump per day, will normally last 50-60 days. A larger dog such as a Great Dane may have up to 4 pumps per day, meaning the same bottle would last 12-20 days. This means that the more sensible and cost effective size of bottle to buy would be the 1000ml or 2500ml bottle. The salmon oil is designed to be given every day, but some people do only use it 4-5 times a week and see great results. We would recommend though, that if you are treating a specific problem, that you use it every day. The oil is so tasty though, that your dog/cat may insist on having it daily anyhow!! If you are feeding the Henne complete food, you can reduce the dose of salmon oil that you give your pet. This is because of the high levels of omega 3 already contained in the food.
How is the oil extracted?
The oil is extracted by cold pressing the salmon at low
temperatures. This ensures that the fatty acids are not broken down and
that their qualities are not lost. This also means that the oil is very
concentrated, making it economical for every day use.
Normal oil which is made from boiling the fish contains less omega 3 and
6, hence does not have the same positive effects.
Where are the salmon from?
Henne is a Danish company, and is produced in Denmark. All of the fish used is clean Scandinavian waters.
Are the fish tested before production?
All the consignments are veterinary tested for quality and suitability prior to production. Any batch not found to be fit for the purpose is not used.
Is the factory Haccp and QC regulated?
The factory is of course HACCP approved and has a stringent Quality control system in place to ensure top quality at all times. Quality controllers take regular samples and audits of the product and processes at different intervals to safe guard the finished product. And of course, remember that this is to human standards.
What additives and preservatives are used in the range?
No artificial color or flavoring, additives or preservatives
are added.
The feed is only preserved as a result of its low water content (less
than 8%). Because of this it is very important to store it in a cool and
dry place.
Garlic is added in the form of garlic powder. Garlic improves the products
smell and taste, while having many other healthy properties. The salmon
is pure, with a little natural vitamin E added. This is essential, as
it is necessary for the absorbtion of the Omega 3 by the body. The treats
in the range are also free of all additives, preservatives and colourings.
This makes it ideal for animals with sensitive digestions, or those on
a natural diet.
What is a Pemmikan bar and how is it used?
Kronch Pemmikan was developed in cooperation with the Sirius Patrol. Henne have supplied the Sirius Patrol with Kronch Pemmikan for their sled dogs for years. Several other people, including hunters and dog sports people have also tested Kronch Pemmikan as a supplement to their dog’s daily diets. The test shows that the dogs maintain a constant level of performance throughout the day
Kronch Pemmikan consists of mainly fat, protein, and
sugar.
With Kronch Pemmikan it is possible to give the dog large amounts of easily
digestible energy in a small "chocolate-like" bar. As a result,
the dog’s stomach isn't overfilled.
Kronch Pemmikan is ideal for hunting and guard dogs during the cold autumn and winter months. If the dog is full of energy, it never freezes and its performance is constant throughout the day. As a plus, it is also more attentive.
Kronch Pemmikan reduces the stress dog’s encounter in dog shows and in other similar situations, such as long waiting periods. Kronch Pemmikan also makes the dog easier to handle.
Highly active and competitive dogs are given 100 - 200 grams of Kronch Pemmikan per day, depending on the dog’s weight and its level of activity. Show dogs, hunting dogs, guard dogs, sled dogs, and other types of dogs are fed in the same way.
The effect of Kronch Pemmican sets in after about half an hour and maximum effect is reached after about an hour and a half. Because of this, it may be advantageous to split the daily ration into several small portions to keep the dogs performance constant throughout the day (see test).
After the period of intense physical activity, the dogs are feed Kronch Active and Kronch Basic, which contains plenty of proteins and fat (oil) obtained from fresh salmon.
Kronch Pemmikan can also be used for feeding skinny dogs.

Kronch Pemmikan is manufactured using the same principle
as a bar of "chocolate". One bar is divided into 8 sections,
each with a mass of 50 grams. These sections are easily broken off and
given to your dog.
Kronch Pemmikan is available in boxes of 15 bars, each bar with a mass
of 400g.
What’s the difference between salmon oil and cod liver oil?
Salmon oil is far, far superior to cod liver oil as a supplement. There are a number of reasons for this. The first is that cod liver oil is very often not a pure supplement, and can contain little cod liver oil, which is mixed with carrier oils. This means that you are not getting the full benefits. Kronch salmon oil is a pure supplement, and is actually the color of the salmon flesh. Cod liver oil is also made from the liver of the fish, which is an intestinal filter organ, and so can contain certain toxins. Kronch salmon oil is made only from the flesh of the fish. Cod is a white fish, so naturally contains much less omega 3 than salmon which is a fatty fish.
